Corporal punishment is prohibited. The daycare doesn’t tolerate an act of abuse or neglect by an employee or volunteer. We use child guidance techniques to promote behavior that will increase learning outcomes.

Strategies utilized are the following:

• Redirect

• Focus on “Do” rather than “Don’t”

• Offer choices

• Praise positive behavior

• Model desired behaviors

• Listen & respond to children needs

• Establish classroom rules & consequences

• Encourage children to use friendly words

Children exhibiting consistent aggressive behavior will be removed from the program.
